StrongBox Technology was one of those products that evolved from a consumer request. This request was not a capability at that time. Since we always are striving to make our customers happy, we began to brainstorm. Strongbox is a multi-versatile box or tube that can be used in shipping applications to protect uniquely shaped parts. It can also, lend itself to acting as a super structure inside a corrugated box as well as a void filler to contain a part to reduce product shift while in transit.
Our CTO and Plant Engineer, Tom Leibreich, constructed several prototypes and shapes of various caliper materials that we could use to fulfill these requests. We then saw the true benefit of this product not to mention its’ versatility. Since this product will ship flat and be assembled onsite, we have reduced warehouse space as well as saved on shipping costs to aid in improving our customers bottom line
Some product design and machinery obstacles had to be overcome. Such as, how to market this product properly as well as how to modify and integrate this new concept to our current machinery. Tom designed and built an interchangeable retrofit unit for creating Strongbox. His ingenuity has allowed for quicker changeovers, faster start up times and improved product quality.
One day, we had a meeting at our facilities with a potential customer and they became intrigued after a glimpse of the StrongBox prototypes. We knew then it was going to be our latest product and moved quickly into full production. Since then, StrongBox has sold itself.
StrongBox offers an incredible amount of useful features to customers. The product is fully customizable on size, length and caliper. Don’t forget that Strongbox has a telescoping feature that can be designed to help standardize and reduce the sizes and variations of your inventory. We can change the strength of StrongBox easily by adding or subtracting to the caliper. Thus, creating a heavy duty Strongbox for more dense parts or a light duty Strongbox for less heavy items to reduce cost. All this can be tailored to the individual customer’s application.
